Dante Carlomagno
PresidentDante Carlomango, Registered Land No. 1562 is the founder and majority stockholder of Carlomango Surveying, Inc. Dante was born in Argentina in 1936, and migrated to the United Stated in 1960. He has worked in the surveying field since 1957, three years prior to arriving to this country. He first went to work for W. E. Neill, an engineering firm in Borger, Texas, where he gained experience in title surveying and oil well locations, and also cross country route surveying for pipeline projects. In 1962, he went to work for Costal Engineering & Mapping Corp., which later turned into Cadastral Surveying & Mapping, where he worked until 1965. He then went to work for Byron Simpsom, out of San Antonio, and became the trouble shooting Party Chief, doing the difficult projects for the company, including a 64,000-acre survey of the Welder Rach in Sinton, Texas. This resulted in the discovery of a vacancy in an original land grant. In 1967 Dante was registered as a land surveyor by examination and he left Byron Simpsom and went to work in pipeline construction, doing what is called field engineering, in almost all of the southeastern states; Austria, Holland and England. In late 1960, he returned to Somerville and started Carlomango Surveying, Incorporated. He remains the crux of operations. Dante Carlomango was married to the former Glenda Lou Landolt of Sommerville, Texas for 42 years until her passing in July of 2004. They have two daughters, Diana Danielle & Cristina “Crissy” Gabrielle. Crissy is a company stockholder, along with being the secretary/treasurer and Chief Financial Officer for Carlomango Surveying. Dante was a Director of the Citizens State Bank of Somerville, Burleson County, Texas, from 1982-2016, and is a Past Resident of the Somerville Independent School District having served from 1976 to 1979.
